The energy that builds the future.

Biomethane is a renewable gas which helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a local and sustainable energy source that can be used in the same systems as fossil natural gas without any adaptations.

Biogas & biomethane production is one of the most reliable and accessible technological solutions to contribute to climate goals of the EU.

Why Biomethane

Environmental benefits

Turning your waste to live in a cleaner planet
Everyday organic waste, like household scraps or agricultural residues, can be transformed into sustainable energy. Biomethane not only solves waste management challenges, but also creates a greener new value chain which we all can share and benefit from.

Fertilizing the Earth, naturally
Our process gives back to the planet. The by-product, digestate, is ready to replace chemical fertilizers, promoting healthier soil and supporting sustainable farming practices.

Local benefits

Clean energy produced locally
Your community’s waste can fuel renewable future. Turning waste to a renewable gas in your area, contributes with cleaner energy to power homes, vehicles and industries. It offers a sustainable alternative to substitute fossil gas, benefiting of the use of existing infrastructure.

Creating employment for your community
Biomethane production and supply chain generates direct and indirect jobs and boosts the local economy. From operations to environmental management, our projects create opportunities for people and businesses in your area. Together, we’re building stronger, greener communities with new employment opportunities.

Economical benefits

Renewable energy with economical advantages
Biomethane represents economic advantages compared to other renewable energy fuels. The production process is a well-known, existing technology, with many European technological providers and manufacturers. On the path towards decarbonization, biomethane is one of the most economically viable solutions to reduce CO2 emissions compared to other alternative fuels and technologies which still need to achieve commercial and industrial levels.

Securing biomethane production growth
Biomethane production continues to grow reaching 6 bcm in Europe in 2023, but additional efforts are needed to reach the 35 bcm target in 2030 set by the REPowerEU plan. Calculations show that by 2030, production can double towards 35-45 bcm.

If we look at 2040 and assuming STEPS scenario WEO 2023, biomethane will be able to cover up to 20% of European gas demand by 2040.

Energy independence leveraging renewable energy

Cleaner energy, brighter tomorrow
Every ton of waste we process prevents harmful methane emissions from entering the atmosphere and every MWh of biomethane consumed by the final client reduces the CO2 emissions. Biomethane is a renewable energy source that helps fight climate change. CH4 emissions are avoided and CO2 reduction is reached, considering the entire value chain, with zero or even negative balance, due to avoided emissions.

Diversify & decarbonize European energy mix
Biomethane is produced locally, reducing transport costs and emissions over long distances. It’s one of the security measures to diversify energy supply, ready to unlock its full potential across the EU.
